I recently returned from Rome Italy in November of 2024. I loved it so much, I'd like to return again in October of 2025 for 30 days spending time in Rome, to further appreciate the love for the city, but also sightsee other top cities in Italy.
In your opinion, would April of 2026 be a more enjoyable time to visit than October of 2025 due to the crowds from The Jubilee? Thank you so much. I appreciate your input..
Hi there and welcome to the Forum! Yep, Rome is an amazing place, and i could imagine November was very nice before the Christmas holidays. I vote for October, simply because Easter is later this year, April 20th. So that will be high Jubilee 'season' in Rome & other pilgrimage sites. You are going to run into more crowds in October than November, however, but fewer than April! Hope that's helpful.
I don't know what's going to happen with visitor levels in Rome this year, or how much (if at all) they will drop back down in April 2026. One advantage April has is that the days will be considerably longer then. That matters a lot to me, but many other folks don't care about that.
Weather varies a lot from year to year, and I'm not a fan of monthly averages, but I see from the climate-summary chart in Wikipedia's article about Rome that, on average, April gets less rain than October. On the other hand, it appears October has the advantage of higher average temperatures. If you want to look more carefully at weather patterns, use the timeanddate.com website, which provides actual, historical, day-by-day statistics going back at least ten years. That's more useful to me than averages, which hid the uncomfortable extremes. Be sure to look at more than one year's data; I usually check the most recent five years.

Hi ! I think October will be a great month to spend 30 days in Italy. The weather will be great and you can also visit some cities and do some food tours in the north of Italy . I reccomend you to visit Parma , Modena and Bologna. If you move with a train they are very close and well linked.
