I have read recently that there is a planned local transport Strike throughout Italy for October 18. My family and I disembark from our Celebrity Cruise that day in Ravenna and have booked the train (Trenitalia) from Ravenna to Venice. Will this train be affected ? Additionally we have booked transportation from the cruise port to Ravenna train station and wonder if it as well will be affected that day. What are some possible options if in fact both of those modes of transportation are shut down. Thx very much in advance.

The October 18 strike will target city buses, trams and metro trains. It should not impact any Trenitalia train or Italotreno train.
I have no way of knowing what you booked for “transportation from the cruise port to Ravenna train station.” It may be problematic if it’s a government-subsidized bus.

The Leonardo Express trains between FCO Airport and Rome Termini train station are exempted from strikes and will run as usual.
