We have about a week in mid October that we would like to spend on the coast in northern Italy. We are trying to figure out if the weather is better in the Ligurian coast area of Cinque Terre compared to Trieste and Slovenia coast. Similar latitudes but different oceans. We would love guidance from those in the know.
Hi lorigilb. check weatherbase.com for average temps, rainfall, etc. For CT area, you could use Sarzana or Genoa. Enjoy your trip!
I have not spent time at Trieste and Slovenia but we have been to the Cinque Terre four times in October and enjoyed it very much each time. We have stayed as long as five nights and never run out of things to do and places to go. In addition to countless hiking trails, you can daytrip to Porto Venere, Portofino and Santa Margherita LIgure, or even Genoa or Carrera.
Thanks to both of you. I appreciate the personal experience information. And, I checked the weather site and found CT, linguria coast is generally a bit warmer temps but has a bit more rain. Since we prefer CT and this coastline it's where we will head. If it's too cold we head south and inland to Umbria and hang out in there....Ahhh, Italy...it's all good. We are ending 6 week trip there.
