Ciao everyone!
I'm currently traveling in Italy. I haven't decide yet where to stop for the New Year Eve. I would like to do something different that would make my trip in Italy unforgettable. If you have any ideas where to go for the 31 December 2017 let me know and leave a message bellow.
I wish you all the best for the New Year.
Grazie mólto
Florence has live music in piazzas all over town, ranging from classical to hip-hop. There's a performance at the opera, too, but I don't know whether seats are still available. I'm told that New Year's celebrations in Florence don't really start until midnight, and go until dawn, as opposed to the USA where things wrap up by about 1AM.
That wasn't the case 5 years ago in Sorrento, where at midnight, private fireworks shows went off all across town for about 15 or 20 minutes, and then things quieted down. The nearby ruins at Pompeii were supposed to be closed on New Year's Day, but they were open in the morning, and shut down early, about 1PM.
Additionally for Florence, I'd posted this info on the F-Light Festival a couple of weeks ago:

Running through Jan 7, and the illuminations look like a lot of fun!
Hey Leanin.
I haven't been to Italy myself and actually new to this forum so thought I would try help out. I asked a similar question in another forum cause I'm in Australia for new years. Got sent a pretty cool article - Noticed there was an Italy section as well it has things to do in Italy for new years. Let me know what you think - https://www.vibescout.com/it/post/cosa-fare-a-capodanno
Hope it helps, but seems like people are giving some really good recommendations already. So I'm sure you gonna be fine in terms of figuring out things to do.
