Nozia Affiliated Hotels

Can anyone explain what the 0% Nozia Affiliated Hotels is on many of the Italy hotel websites and whether there's benefits to belonging to this?

A simple explanation is that you will get a discount for booking directly with the hotel, B&B, etc. because they don't have to pay a commission (0%) to venere, Expedia, etc. You get the discount if you first register on the Nozio website http://www.nozio.com/ then either mention that you are a Nozio member when you email inquiring about rates, or log in as a Nozio member on the hotel's website. The discount is usually small, but it costs nothing to join, so I figured why not save a few bucks. I didn't find their hotel search engine to be that good, IMHO. But whenever I was researching a hotel and saw the Nozio icon on a website I checked the rates before and after I logged in. There was always at least a small discount. I do like that the reviews on the Nozio website are from people who actually stayed there, so you don't have to worry as much about the authenticity of the reviews. You can only review the hotel if you are a Nozio member who booked directly with the hotel (I'm not sure how the confirmation process works exactly).

Amy, Thanks for the information. I did start to register on their site but then this warning came up about processing my personal data so I backed off and thought I'd check if others used this before proceeding.

That message appears every time I've signed up for anything in Italy or Europe in general. Maybe its an EU requirement? I read it completely, and it didn't seem to be anything offensive to me. So I continued. I agree that it pays to be cautious before agreeing to anything, so you were wise to post.

I decided to proceed signing up and two hotels I've now booked have given me about 5 euro savings per night. It all helps!
