Personal experience. There are lines in November in Rome.
Best advise, get there early, right when the site opens and you shouldn't have a big problem.

The Vatican was still crowded for tours, as the cruise ships arrive and people swarm to see the museum and St Peters. We arranged a tour through Angel Tours and skipped the main line, but it was still very crowded in the museum.

We really enjoyed our "off season" trip. We were there the first week of November. The weather was cool, but not cold. I see in my photos that I had on a sweater everyday. Do be prepared for rain, take a light rain jacket with a hood, and perhaps a small umbrella.

Have a wonderful trip
