My husband and I will be in Rome Oct. 30-Nov. 3. I understand Nov. 1 is a holiday and therefore the Vatican is closed. I don't see mention of other sites being closed. Can I expect that other sites would be open? Will public transit be running? Are holidays of this sort a good day to be in Rome (not so crowded) or a good day to get out of Rome (exceptionally crowded) and go to Ostia Antica or Orvieta or is it just like any other day?
Thanks in advance.
Nov 1st is all Saints. Nov 2nd is ALl souls. All saints is a national holiday. What will be open? Expect it to be like Thanksgiving Monday in Canada.
