My Husband and I arrive at Rome Airport on November 19th,when a one day national strike is scheduled .Do private airport shuttles from the Airport to central Rome continue to operate during the strike ?
Carmela
Yes, private shuttles and taxi's have a field day on a national strike days. If you would like to use a shuttle, reserve now as they will fill up! Trenitalia also guarentees the Leonardo Express will run - even in a strike. This may mean they substitute buses for the train, but that is an option. Another way might be the SITBus Shuttle. If the trains are not running, why pay E14 to ride a Trenitalia bus - when you can pay E8 and ride the SITBus? So you do have options from FCO or CIA if there is a strike. And of course, many strikes, although called, never happen! For more info on strikes, read this **** http://tinyurl.com/rome-strikes **** and the for SITbus info, read this ***** http://tinyurl.com/SITBus ****
Thanks so much to Rome/Copenhagen for such an informed comprehensive answer .This certainly show how useful these postings can be .
Do you know if trains will run from Rome to Florence?
