We are traveling to Sicily in May and we happen to be in Siracusa the 3rd weekend in May. I know that there is a flower festival in Noto that weekend, and I have a question about our itinerary. We arrive in Siracusa on Friday the 17th, and leave on Sunday the 19th at which time we head to Monica for 2 nights. We have arranged a tour of Ortigya on Friday. We were thinking of going to Noto on Saturday, assuming that it would be less crowded, and then going to Cantina Marilina for lunch and a wine tour. My questions are this:
Is the flower festival worth the effort?
How much time do we need in Siracusa to do it justice.
Is it worth taking the time to go to the winery?
Does this itinerary make sense or should we skip the winery and stop in Noto on Sunday on our way to Modica?
I have heard that traffic will horrific... is it worth going to Noto?
