Hello - We will be traveling to Italy for a week in August with young children - 7 yrs old, 5 yrs old and 1 yr old. We will be flying into Milan and staying in the Piacenza area. Does anyone have suggestions for day trips with the kids or maybe even a 1 night getaway that would be fun for young kids? We have already done Venice day trips the past 2 summers so hoping to do something different.

It has been a really long time since I have been to Florence. Has anyone been recently? Do you think the Galleria dell’Accademia is way too ambitious with the kids? I wish I could find a kids tour in any of the major cities like Florence or Milan. Do you know of any?

We were in Florence with 4 kids for 4 days. Didn't go in any museums, just not happening. We were happy to play in piazzas and have lots of gelato, soaking up the atmosphere.
