Here is our tentative itinerary - any suggestions on places to see? We are active and adventurous! Tentative Fly non-stop to Venice 1.Venice - 3 nights -> Pick up car - drive to 2.Tuscany - 4 nights -> stop at Ferrari museum -> visit wineries -> day trips to Pisa, Florence, -> golf, hiking, biking 3. Drive to La Spezia - 2 nights -> day trip to Cinque Terre by ferry -> hike trails 4. Drive to Lake Como - 5 nights -> by pass Milan, go scenic route to Genoa/Portofino -> rent boats to villages -> hike the Trails/Alps -> cooking class
5. Drive from Lake Como to Milan airport for departure.
2. The Ferrari museum is in Maranello (near Modena), I presume you know that. That's before you get to Tuscany, on the way from Venice. 3. See if you stay somewhere else, instead of La Spezia. You can actually drive to the Cinque Terre if you want. You won't need a car in the area, but at least it's prettier than La Spezia. Monterosso (the westernmost town of the Cinque Terre) is more car friendly. The rest works. For Lake Como, the best area is midlake (Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio). The Alps are further north compared to Lake Como. The Valtellina (valley) where the city of Sondrio is, is the dividing point. North of the Valtellina valley is Alps, south of the valtellina is not Alps, it's the Prealps.
Thank you! Any wineries in Tuscany are favorites and give the best experience?
if you like hiking don't miss val camonica, where you can find the original graffiti. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_Drawings_in_Valcamonica, http://www.invallecamonica.it/?Lingua=ENG http://www.parcoseradinabedolina.it/parcoe.html
