Northern Italy in April

Hello

We have set in place 3 nights Lake Garda, 3 nights Venice.

We land in Milan very early in the morning 30/3 and have 8 days to fill in before Lake Garda and Venice?

Have not done Bernina route before.

Any assistance appreciated - have been to Domodossola - but loved it.

It is still early for any greenery at altitude, but the valleys will be nice. Stresa is not far from the airport and is a nice place to adjust and you can see the Borromeo Islands. There's a nearby cable car that might be open by then which you can do round trip or take it up and hike down. The valley of the Adige is scenic, and in Bolzano, I found the Iceman Otzi and exhibits wonderfully fascinating. The museum has just completed a renovation. The city is also interesting for the German / Italian cultural mix.
