Northern Italy in April

My husband and I are planning to take my uncle to Italy in early April. Our family is from the Fonzaso and Belluno areas. We are considering flying into Venice and driving to these areas. I am wondering what the weather will be like during this time. Thank you.

Always hard to forecast. But our experience was cool and rainy similar to what you might find around New York and Chicago in that time period. Will not match Texas.

Mary,
I have relatives in Belluno too!!!! (Bortoluzzi). Hope to go there soon and was wondering about the weather in either May or September to miss the summer heat and crowds? Would September be better in order to be in Tuscany for harvest?

There is a terrific website for looking up "averages" http://www.wunderground.com/. Enter your city and then scroll down to Travel and Activities where you can enter a date range for your trip. You will get averages for the period based on data from 1997-present, as well as the actual weather on each day in that period. Averages are only averages, and of course we all get weather that is unseasonable, so remember, as Rick Steves says (paraphrased): there's no bad weather for travel, only inappropriate clothing!
