Showing a friend around who likes warm weather (planA) Rome 3 days train to Florence ,train straight to Ancona ,ferry across to Croatia 4/5 days return to Florence by ferry & train stay in Florence 4 days then Lucca,Siena 4 days each or (planB) Rome 3 days, Naples 2 days fly to Palermo and see all the towns around that area ,have 4 weeks in total fly home from Rome thanks

You can certainly google and find out the average temperatures. If late October I'd go with plan B although two years ago it was not warm in Salerno or Naples the last two weeks of October. Last year I can't remember!

How warm is warm? 60s and sunny is fine with me but if you want over 75 consistently, go earlier. Check those average historical weather stats and make sure your friend understands what the range can be.
