I have been watching for months for the tickets for fall to show up on the site (www.tosc.it) for the Borghese Galleria. We will be there October 3, 2017, but the availability currently ends with Oct.1! Does anyone know when these tickets will be made available? How long should I wait before I attempt to order over the phone? As my Italian is limited to the basic hello, please, thank you, and where is the bathroom?, I am intimidated by having to make that call. Will there be any English speaking operators?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
You won't have any trouble with the English of the operator which will be much better than your Italian. Just listen through the Italian recording until the English one comes on.
Will you be paying for entry or using a Roma Pass (first two entries only)?
Thanks for the information. I will be paying for our tickets. I assume I can just charge them to a credit card. I believe we have to pick up our tickets at least 30 minutes before our timed entry, and I know we have to check basically all our belongings at the entrance. Anything else I should know?
Tickets usually go on sale 30-60 days in advance. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Just keep checking the site. They will eventually open up.
You must get there no later than 30 minutes prior. This is when they start giving away unclaimed tickets. If you don't check in before the 30 minute point you could find your reservation cancelled. I always get there about 45-60 minutes early, get checked in, check my bags, rent my audio guide and roam around the park until entry time. They also have a nice snack bar and shop inside the gallery that you can visit.

Thanks, Donna
I think we will be getting tickets for the last time slot of the day. Do you know if you can enter the gift shop before your entry into the gallery itself?
Do you know if you can enter the gift shop before your entry into the
gallery itself?
Yes! In fact, we did some browsing and purchased a book to use as a guidebook during our visit: "The Galleria Borghese: The Masterpieces".
Yes, the gift shop and caffe are at the front of the museum, so you can spend some time there before your entry time. Another hint is to go to the top floor first, since most people crowd in at the bottom floor; by the time you switch places, you will have more space to view the sculptures.
Appreciate this info - going to be there a little later in October but trying to avoid an international call. I'll just keep checking each day.
Thank you for information. Similar issue has come up for our travel.
Thanks to all for the information. Apparently I was not the only one who was helped by your replies!
When we travelled last November tickets opened just a mth in advance and the gallery was closed for a few days because they were having a special exhibit of Caravaggio paintings being set up. Thankfully it was open on 1 of the 3 days we were in Rome. It's an amazing gallery and I got some great photos.
Keep checking every day and hope that they don't have a special exhibit being set up!!
You don't need to call to book this. Just keep checking the website. The tickets should open up soon.

I have been researching the various sites to purchase "skip the line" Borghese Galleria tickets. It looks like there are numerous sites for purchasing the Borghese Galleria tickets with various pricing all advertising "skip the line" i.e. Viator, the Galleries main website, Rome Toolkit, etc. Any difference or is a "skip the line" ticket the same except for the pricing advertised by these sites??
Also, do any of these offer a refund if cancelled within a given period i.e 7 days prior to visit?
Also, since we will be in Rome the first Sunday of October, apparently that is a "no fee" day to visit the Gallery. However, I could imagine the lines to get in will be intolerable depending how much time you have on that day.
Thanks in advance
gps, there is really no such thing as "skip the line" at the Borghese. Everyone showing up for their 2-hour time slot already has reserved tickets and/or have booked a tour. "Skip the line" only really applies to attractions which have one line - usually long - for buying tickets, and separate one for people who've pre-purchsed tickets or are using passes.
There is NO skipping security check lines at any attractions which have them. At the Borghese, there will also be a line for the checkroom as almost everyone has something that's not allowed into the museum.
There is no need to buy a reserved ticket anywhere but through the official website:
http://www.galleriaborghese.it/en/home_en/borghese-gallery-and-museum
Tickets through this site are non-refundable and cannot be changed: here is the fine print:
http://www.ticketone.it/obj/media/IT-eventim/pdf/en/galleria-borghese-5-en.pdf
I've no idea what any of the 3rd party ticket-bookers' policies are.
This is actually one of the top attractions which DOES make sense to visit on first-of-the-month "Free" Sundays because they maintain their normal crowd control: you are still required to pre-book a reservation for a 2-hour time slot if wanting to visit on one of these Sundays. They don't let any more visitors in per time slot than they do on a normal day. Needless to say, slots book up very, very quickly.
Tickets through all of October are up now! Everyone else still has to be patient.
YAY! Happy booking, everyone!
The Borghese is fabulous: we enjoyed it so much more than being run all over at the Vatican.
Thanks so much, everyone. We have a very limited window of free time during an escorted tour, so I have been anxious to get our tickets booked for this tour on our own. I did get what I needed ( though I am still awaiting my confirmation email, which I guess may not be sent till daytime there, or even Monday?). I do have an order number, so I think all is well. I am really looking forward to this trip, and especially this tour.
