No reservations for "The Last Supper" for Sep/Oct

I just got off the phone... Apparently the new company that took over reservations for "The Last Supper" in Milan can only take reservations for November and after, and has no control over September/October reservations. I was told that I have to get there at 8am to see if any spots are open if I want to go in September/October...

We'll be only there for half day so we can't be there in the morning, but we'll try to get there anyway to see if we can get in. It sucks. :(

This might be one of the times that looking at a third party tour may be the best solution, Viator, Tickitaly, etc. Are you spending the night in Milan? If so, ask your hotel to make reservations for you. Otherwise I'd probably look at somebody like Viator and find something that would work for the time you have available.

Thanks for the info!

I was giving up because sites like http://en.milano.waf.it/ was saying "RESERVATIONS AVAILABLE FOR DATES AFTER NOVEMBER 1ST; MUSEUM WILL START CONFIRMING VISITS FROM THE SECOND WEEK OF SEPTEMBER", but I'll give tickitaly.com a try.

I hope some companies still have access to old reservation calendar before the reservation company changed...

This is the second try on "The Last Supper". We couldn't make it the first time (5 years ago) because of big flight delay. It feels like some forces of nature are preventing us from seeing "The Last Supper". :)

If you're staying overnight in Milan, definitley take Nadine's suggestion and ask your hotel if they can assist. I arrived in Milan without Last Supper reservations a few years ago. The person at the front desk called someone he knew whos cousin worked at the ticket office. I had a confirmed resevation within 20 minutes. That seems to be how Italy works - everyone knows someone who knows someone who can get something done.

Thanks Frank! I'll definitely try that if this online reservation doesn't work.

My hostess for the B&B I am staying at was also unable to get a reservation for October. When I called the booking office a week or so ago the woman I spoke with suggested coming to the ticket office early in the morning and they might have tickets.

You can book a guided tour that includes Last Supper visit, for example, Milan City Tour with Last Supper, Tour supplied by: Zani Viaggi; Tel: 39-02-867131; This tour leaves at 14,30 (2:30 PM).
Departure point: Zani Viaggi Office; Foro Boanaparte, 76; Milano; at junction of Foro Bonaparte and Via Cusani at metro station Cairoli.
This tour ends at 18,00 (6:00 PM).
This tour includes Duomo, La Scala museum and the Last Supper.

This is not the cheapest option, but booking a tour that includes the Last Supper will guarantee you the tour since you only have an afternoon in Milan.

Thanks a ton Elinda, I think that may be the best option. My wife and I will be there in early October for one day, and definitely don't want to miss it. This is not a ton more than many of the other sites were charging for entrance. I see online prices mostly as 20 euro for a 15 minute visit vs 30/39 Euro for a guided tour. The Viator is $60 per person for an afternoon tour ... very comparable to the guided tour. Everyone has it fully booked for that day, even at a higher rate. I am sure glad to be in!
