There is no laundry where the Italy guidebook says in Siena. I carried my laundry up and down the hills of Siena and there is no laundry there or on the surrounding streets.
Hi fenneyml,
The best place to share this information is here:

Cheers!
Interesting as I'm seeing several listings for lavanderia, and some reviews for one that are as recent as July:
Did you ask the desk at your hotel? Which one were you looking for?
what is this:
http://siena.lavapiu.it/index.php
check the address
I am referring to the one in the guidebook -
Onda Blu
Via del Casato di Sotto 17
There is no laundry at that location or near it. I asked at my hotel and will go to the one they showed me tomorrow.
Interesting we used it last Novemeber when we were in Sienne, like 2 blocks off the piazza.
As it's not on the master list of Ondablu locations (below) within the link Jazz provided, it must have closed.
Good idea to report it if it's still in the book, fenneyml.

For lavanderie, it would be rare to find a guidebook with a reliable listing. Rents and leases change from year to year. Given the time it takes to get a guidebook published, small service businesses, especially self-serve, can come and go. Researchers are better served to verify their information on https://www.paginegialle.it/eng/.
Kathy,
I reported it via the link Lane provided.
NYCTravelSnob,
This being my first trip to Europe, I went by the guidebook. If it was simply a restaurant or something, I wouldn't bother mentioning it but when I carried all of my laundry quite a ways and was stuck with no laundromat, I thought it might help others to mention it.
To avoid the ridiculously greedy airline baggage fees, more and more travelers seek a local laundromat. It's always good to mention when one has moved or gone out of business. However, before trusting the information you have, do everything you can to confirm it before stepping out with the laundry bag. Doing laundry takes a few hours away from the day. You don't want to waste those precious hours on a seek-and-find mission, causing further delays.
NYCTravelSnob,
I think I've already learned that the hard way given that I've got a swollen knee and did my walking and time wasting in the rather vertical city of Siena. i bothered to mention it here because of the fact that it was a costly mistake.
I reported it via the link Lane provided.
Well done! Hope your knee feels better soon. 🙂
Siena can be a beast of city to conquer on foot. Take care of those knees.
Kathy and NYCTravelSnob,
Thanks and I'll do my best.
fenneymi, I hope your knee(s) feels better soon.
It is very annoying to trust that something is there and then it's gone; happened to me with a Mailboxes Etc. location, and I ended up taking my box all over town - and on the train to the next before I found one via app.
Fenneyml,
I'm sorry about your knee.
There's a self-serve lavandería on Via dei Rossi, 94. I was just there earlier today.
There are 3 washers (2 regular and one large) and 2 dryers.
There's a change machine on the premises that changes €5 and €10 bills.
There are instructions in English on the wall which is always helpful. The detergent is automatically dispensed during the wash cycle, so you don't need to bring or buy your own.
Washers cost €5 (€7 for the large washer) and dryers cost €1 per 10 minutes.
If you want a lavandería where you drop off your clothes and pick up later, there's one near my b&b, send me a PM and I will give you the address.
Edit to add...
There's a delicious gelateria, 'Kopakavana' (recommended by my b&b owner) on the way down to the lavandería on the same street.
Hope your knee heals soon.
As long as you don't smell like a horse, you'll be fine.
If you start smelling like a horse, then don't be surprised if some Senese starts courting you. They have a weakness for horses there.
And following up on Roberto's excellent advice -- only really worry if it's close to the Palio dates.
Priscilla,
Thanks for the info. I may use it and do my laundry here. My knee is bad enough that I'm staying off it today because if it doesn't improve I will have to cut my trip short. The walk yesterday did not help but such is life and travel. Thanks again!
I don't smell like a horse - yet. Lol
Fenneyml,
Perhaps I can help you drop off your laundry?
I sent you a PM.

That looks to be the one I linked above (Lavanderia Waterland: Via dei Rossi 94, 53100, Siena, Italy

Way to offer help, Priscilla. Yay for you!
