No fast train between Venice and Milan in August 2024?

I'm trying to book travel from Venice to Milan on August 16 and I don't see any direct fast trains on Trenitalia's website, or the the direct trains take close to 4 hours. Is there some disruption to rail travel? Or maybe the trains are all booked? (usually when a train is booked, it will still show up on search but will say "sold out")

Italo has a morning train that takes 3 hour 55 minutes and it looks like a direct train. Maybe that's my best bet at this point?

It looks like Trenitalia trains are way more expensive too (50+ euro whereas Italo trains are cheaper, starting around 25).

That is odd
I checked days before and after and there are several direct ( no changes) fast trains on those days

The normal travel time from MilanomCentrale to Venice is 2 hours 27 minutes for the Frecce trains.

I took a look at August 14-16 on Trenitalia. The “fast” Frecce trains are running, but most of them are routed via Bologna, which adds time. The one direct train I see, FR 9710 departing at 8:45 from Milano Centrale to Venezia S.L, takes longer than normal to go from Milan to Brescia (nearly an hour), and then takes 2.5 hours to cover the short distance between Padova and Verona, omitting the usual stop at Vicenza. So something is going on in that area, but I don’t see any alerts about this.

I noticed the trains are also very expensive. I will probably book Italo Evo train that also takes 4 hours, but cheaper, and appears to be direct.

Someone on another forum said there are track work on the line between Venezia and Milano and the trains are rerouted.
