no credit cards for agriturismo reservation

We've made a reservation via email for 2 two nights in an agriturismo in Castelnuovo Berardenga near Siena, per a friend's recommendation. I've offered my credit card to reserve our room but they've requested that money be sent to them. They've provided me w/their bank info. Is there an easy and inexpensive way to do this? My bank charges $25+ to wire money. Can I just mail a check for the dollar amount equal to Euros?

My bank charged $45 to deposit money into a Swiss Chalet owner's account for an upcoming rental. I've been told that I could have chosen to receive a check from my bank with a denomination of Swiss Francs and then I could have sent the check to the person in Switzerland. However, the Swiss person who cashes the check will incur fees...so there's really no easy way to do it.

Offer to send them an international money order. They are not too much trouble and nominal fee to purchase and then you just mail it to them. Available at post offices, banks etc

Kim is correct. An international money order is the best way. My local Bank of America has done this for me a couple of times to reserve agritourismos. Make sure they understand you want a money order and not have the amount wired. Though this service is offered, the local bank folks don't do these transactions very often and so they need a little handholding.

I would not send a check in dollars. Especially if sent to a small town, they may not have ready access to a bank that can convert the currency.
