I would say wait till 18 April to see if its included along with the promised CDC update on that date. If not then, well, we wait. At least its an antigen test which isnt the end of the world (unless you fail). I get mine for my return trip tomorrow morning. Geeee, I would hate to have to spend another two weeks here.

The article linked above is simply a mention of a press question in a travel magazine.
It’s not official info from CDC.

I’ll wait for official update from CDC

Yes. I’ve seen this report as well, and have read the source (the bi-weekly press report from the White House’s Covid response task force). Without being political (I definitely don’t want this to veer into political polemics), it does seem that the current administration is somewhat vested in its priorities, policies and funding towards maintaining a “pandemic” status for the Covid situation, rather than an “endemic” status. For some, that might be a good thing, for others it might be frustrating. Since entry testing now doesn’t really impact whether the US gets Covid (since it already has Covid), science would suggest that full vaccination, rather than entry testing, becomes the emphasis. Perhaps, with a new White House coordinator for Covid response transitioning this month, we might see some movement. As of now, it seems rather entrenched.

I just saw that statement from Jeff Zients. I am hoping Dr. Jha has a different plan when he takes over soon. I just wrote to the WH to voice my support for changes in the testing requirement — my suggestions were no test for those with a booster (or a second booster) and as an alternate, change it to a 48 hour window. It boggles me that when I took a few cruises there was no requirement to test for entry even though I visited foreign countries, but via flight you have to.
