Can anybody suggest any brands of no-alcohol beer available in Italy? Thanks.
Don't think the Italians are well known for their beer, so it will probably be German. Clausthaler is the most famous and all the big international German breweries sell a no-alcohol brand. Personally, they all taste nasty and I don't understand the reason to drink pretend beer. Why not have a glass of water or juice or a cappuccino?
I cannot make any specific suggestions but suggest you learn the italian for ´beer without alcohol´. I suspect it will be readily available.
I live in Spain and drink no alcohol beer sometimes in summer. I am a wine drinker more than a beer drinker, but drink beer when thirsty.
Water and juice and coffee are all fine in certain situations but I do not agree that no alcohol beer all tastes horrible. SOme taste better than others but that is the same as alcoholic beer.
But still, what is the purpose of drinking pretend beer? Unless you really do like the taste of it over something else. I guess I just don't get it?
The good news is that you're going to be spared the task of choosing between various brands because you're not going to find much selection of non-alcoholic beer anywhere. If they carry any such beer, they'll only carry one brand.
In Italian, you want to ask for "una birra senza alcool", but you will be understood by any Italian if you just remember the word "senza" (for without) and say "Beer senza alcohol."
And I can understand completely why someone would want to drink non-alcoholic beer - you enjoy the taste but don't want the alcohol. Good for you.
