Nighttime openings of the Vatican Museum

Should I book to see the Vatican during normal hours or during the nighttime hours? Is there anything special about the nighttime hours?
This will be our first trip to Italy.

Thank you.

If it is available and you can afford it I would definitely try the night time tour. I had some friends who got to do this and they said it was fantastic - just a few people in the whole place and you really get to see more. Is this a general open to the public event or do you have some additional access?

Below is what is posted on the Vatican website. Should I see it during regular hours AND nighttime hours. I think it is two separate fees.

September-October 2009,
Nighttime Openings of the Vatican Museums

After the first night opening of the 24th of July, every Friday of September and October 2009 the Vatican Museums will open their doors after sunset, from 7.00 pm to 11.00 pm (last entrance at 9.30 pm). Visitors will be able to admire the Upper Galleries of the Vatican Museums, the Octagonal Court (Cortile Ottagono), the Raphael's Stanze, the Sistine Chapel and the Galleries of the Apostolic Library.

Booking online on the official web site of the Vatican Museums is obligatory.
