We are trying to book rooms for early Oct in Monterosso for 3 nights. Ist choice for convenience was albergo pasquala. No luck. We found a room in ricks book in" manuels guesthouse". Has anyone been there? Good,Bad,ugly? We are not snobs, but I am not hostel kinda guy either. Any feedback would really be great. thanks, Jeff Masters

Did you call or email the Hotel Pasquale? A call might bring more success. They speak excellent English. We just stayed there last week-end. It was a nice place. I liked staying in the old part of town. By the way, Miky's restaurant is superb. You need a reservation.

My husband I stayed 3 nights in Monterosso last September. We stayed at Locanda il Maestrale, which we found in Rick Steve's book. It was quaint with a lovely terrace. We loved the location. We stay a lot of large hotels and this was a delightful break. If you are there on market day, get a rotisserie chicken and have a picnic on a bench over looking the waves. Yum!
