Idead for how to enjoy Rome at night

How to you want to enjoy it? Night clubs, bars, restaurants, strolling? Rome is typical of the Med culture where things don't really get rolling till 9/10 oclock or later. Many of the better restaurants don't open till 8 or so. A leisurely dinner till 10 is not uncommon. Stroll along the streets, late dessert, etc.

I don't have my copy on me right now but I believe RS Italy book has a self guided walking tour you can follow at night that takes you around to the popular Roman fountains all lit up.

Haven't been to Rome before, have you? Rome at night is its own 'night life.' Piazza Navonna (street performers and gelato), Trevi Fountain (the later the better), St. Peter's (just to be there). My personal favorite is Trastevere - more real. don't miss walking along the Foro Romano at night!
