Nightjet train - re routing and construction?

Hello all,
We are in Venice this May and hoped to take the nightjet train to Munich during our stay (it's on my bucket list!).
I've been stalking the night jet website for tickets/reservations for months with nothing available. Today, I was trying nightjet routes from other locations (close to Venice) and received the following alert when booking Bolonga -> Munich:

Update 1 (06.02.2023 10:42) Construction work - Rail replacement services/rerouting
Due to construction work no trains can operate between Schwarzach-St.Veit and Mallnitz-Obervellach from 12/04/2023 (05:30am) through 17/05/2023 (05:30pm). A rail replacement bus service is being arranged. The night trains is redirected.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Can anyone provide more explanation? To me, this sounds like we will exit the train, be placed on a bus, and then back on the train again...nothing that sounds good at 2am! Is there another interpretation? For more added info, our most desired route (Venice -> Munich) doesn't show up at all. The above is the message which shows when booking Bolonga -> Munich (which will, btw, allow you to purchase a seat, unlike the Venice route).

Looking for any insights and advice?
Thanks,
Jenn

They do not give the same warning for the Venice to Munich night train (NJ 236) because it takes a different route, through Udine in Italy. This avoids the construction area which is in Austria after Villach. This NJ 236 train ends at Munchen Ost rather than the HauptbHnhof.

I don’t know why NJ 236 doesn’t show up on the website you are using. Maybe try using Munchen Ost as the destination. Or search for the specific train number. Or book on Bahn.de (although that appears complicated when I tried it).
