I've looked everywhere for a place to reserve a night train from Venice to Vienna for a deluxe sleeper compartment, but any place I find only allows you to book 2nd class. ( on DB Bahn) Any ideas?

For whatever reason bahn.de won't allow the purchase if outside of Germany. Go to Raileurope.com and you can find that night train route and choose the premier price which lets you reserve the sleeper compartment. Hope that helps!

You can't use DB because none of this journey occurs in Germany.

We took the reverse route and purchased our cabin with shower and toilet on the official Austria train website..... They had really low prices for booking early. And mailed the tickets to our home. The deluxe compartment was less expensive then regular tickets purchased from rail Europe. I think their website was www.oebb.au but not certain. Google it.
