We will be taking a night train from Rome to Venice in May 2010. However, there seems to be only one train leaving at 1900 and getting to Venice at 0100. Will there be more trains scheduled later? I don't want to arrive at 0100 in the morning. Any suggestions?
Rome to Venice is only a 4.5 hour journey, so it's too short for a night train. The train you're looking at is the the Rome to Vienna night train that happens to make a stop at Venezia Mestre station en route.
If you tried to get timetables for a date in May on the Trenitalia site, you're looking too far ahead. They haven't all been loaded yet. Enter a date between today and 12 December and you'll get complete timetables.
There is an InterCityNight train that leaves Roma Tiburtina at 22:36 and arrives at Venezia Santa Lucia at 05:26.
Thanks, I will check on earlier dates for the departures for Venice.
