patty,

I don't believe there's a "Night Train" from Linate airport, as there's no rail station there. You'll still have to get to Milano Centrale or one of the other stations to access trains.

Are you going to the town of Amalfi, or somewhere else on the Amalfi coast? If going to Amalfi you'll travel by train to Salerno, but there will also be a Bus ride which may be a bit arduous if you don't sleep well on the train.

Ken is correct. Can you provide a better idea of what you are trying to do. Where are you going in Amalfi since that is an region and not a city. What led you to believe that a night train existed?

Actually, there are night trains from Milano Centrale to Salerno (2010 - 556/no changes; 2110-838/2 changes, 2110-912/I change). Then a bus or ferry to your Amalfi Coast destination. Check trenitalia.com for schedules and prices. I found nothing from Linate.

Linate has no train stations, therefore you will need to take a taxi or bus to the city center of Milan, where there are train stations.
There is also no train station in Amalfi, which is indeed a town in the province of Salerno. The closest train station is in Salerno, from which you can take a bus or boat to Amalfi.
If you want a night train from Milan, there are only 2 options that are decent:
One mentioned by Zoe above:
IntercityNotte #35563 Departs Milano Centrale at 20:10, arrives at Salerno at 05:56
The other is from Milano Porta Garibaldi station:
IntercityNotte #797 Departs Milano Porta Garibaldi at 23:17, arrives at Salerno at 10:32

I hope you are not like me, and you are able to sleep on a train. They are noisy and they jerk you around a bit. Take ear plugs with you.
