Hi, I am looking for a late (late) night train from Florence to Milan. I need to reach Milan before by 6:30 am. I looked at Trenitalia schedules but couldnt find any. However, when I look at the timetable at ViaggiaTreno, I see quite a few trains, but somehow I am not able to find those on trenitalia. Does anybody know or has anybody travelled late in the night from Florence To Milan.
Have you tried Raileurope.com web site? They also have a phone number for contact info. They have been very helpful to me when planning my train routes.
I replied to your post this morning, but for some reason my post doesn't appear on this thread.
For complete timetables go to www.bahn.de and click on "Internat. guests" to view the site in English. Enter Firenze as your departure city and Milano and your destination. The default "standard search" will give you the fastest trains and a "only local transport" search will give you more possibilities.
You will find that you can leave Firenze Rifredi at 18:45; change in Prato, Bologna Centrale, and Piacenza; and arrive at Milano Lambrate at 05:28. But do you really want to be jumping on and off trains throughtout the evening and all through the night?
If you can push your arrival deadline back a little bit, you can take two genuine night trains. Leave Firenze Campo di Marte at 01:47. change at Bologna Centrale and arrive at Milano Centrale at 07:05. That is what you will see if you do a "standard search" at bahn.de and a regular search at trenitalia.com.
