Has anyone done a night fishing trip for anchovies ( or sardines?..I can't remember which fish they catach at night) on the Cinque Terra? My 3 grown sons and I want to have that experience when we visit this July/
Saw this on the internet.... "The most unique by far would be the anchovies unmistakeable for their bright grey colour. Their fishing is done by the technique of using a night fishing light 'lampara' in sea beds not far from Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore". Maybe you could find a local fisherman willing to take you out to try it. In Capri, I saw night fisherman with lights going out for squid. I have been lucky enough to go night "Shrimping" in Florida. It was the first time I tasted shrimp that was not previously frozen. It sound like it would be a unique experience for you and you family.
Thank you very much. I think I will ask my hotel if they can set us up!
Have been looking at the same activity but the excursions seem to be in Cilento area which is south of SAlerno. There are boats that go out from Agropoli
If I find anything I will let you know. I have emailed our hotel in the Cinque Terra to see if he knows of any local fisherman who would take us out. Salerno is way far away from where we are going to be. Good luck !
