Nice to Camogli or other?

Hello! My husband and I are planning a summer trip to France and are thinking about adding three nights in Italy before flying home from Milan. We’d be traveling by train from Nice to Italy.
We’ve never been to the Italian Riviera or Cinque Terre and aren’t sure if three nights is enough for Cinque Terre, especially in July. Camogli was suggested to us as a quieter base with good day-trip options (Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure).
I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been:
Is Camogli a good choice for three nights?
Is there time for a quick day trip to Cinque Terre or does it deserve a dedicated trip?
Thanks so much for any advice!

We like to stay in Santa Margherita Ligure and I also agree with Camogli as a nice place to stay for three nights. Beautiful and relaxing.
Le Cinque Terre deserves to be its own trip; a day trip would not do it justice.

I would first check the schedules to see how long it would take you to get there and then to Milan for your flight—would it still be three days?
Love Camogli, but something that is on the direct route would give you more time.
