Our family will be in be in Venice at the end of Dec. would you recommend celebrating New Year’s Eve in Venice or nearby town. Our kids are in early 20’s and it would be fun to celebrate in some way. Thanks for any thoughts

New Year's Eve is a big deal in Venice. I was there last year. There is a stage set up in Piazza San Marco, with singers, musicians, etc., and at midnight there is a massive fireworks display from a barge in the basin (near San Marco). If you google "New Year's Eve in Venice" you'll get lots of info. Do make your dinner reservations early, too. It would be a memorable place for kids in their early 20's to have a great New Year's Eve celebratory experience! (It can be quite cold, too, in that special Venicey-chilly-dampy-windy-cold way...)
