Hello - We ( my husband and 2 adult daughters and myself) will be traveling to Rome from 12/24 - 12/29, and then we will be staying in Montepulciano the nights of 12/29, 30, and 31. Though I had thought I had previously made reservations for New Year's Eve, I have discovered I must be wrong, so I am in search of a good, authentic, warm sort of place, for us to have a lovely New Year's Eve dinner. Nothing outrageously expensive, just good quality food and an inviting atmosphere, though we are open to all suggestions if there is a place worthy of a splurge ! Though we will have a rental car, we likely will want to just stay in town for the evening with the hope of an authentic experience to ring in 2017. We are staying at Mueble Il Riccio. We have also struggled in finding a spot for dinner for Christmas Eve in Rome, though I believe we finally have one secured - Trattoria da Luigi (staying in Campo de fiori). Any and all advice re places to eat and things do during the Christmas and New Year's season are very much appreciated!! Grazie!

Had a very lovely meal last September at l'Altra
Cantuccino. Very well presented and prepared authentic Tuscan food.

We had our best meal in Montepulciano at La Grotte down the hill by the Basilica.
