New Year's Eve in Milan - what to do?

Hello,

My fiancee and I will be spending New Year's Eve in Milan before our flight back to the US on New Year's Day. We're looking for advice on where to eat and what to do to best experience the New Year's excitement in the city!

We had been planning on finding an all-inclusive Capodanno feast at a restaurant somewhere in the central city (we'll be staying near Milano Centrale station that night), but our internet searching has been somewhat fruitless. Does anyone have a recommendation of a good restaurant or bar where we could eat and drink through the night? I'm convinced that we should try to find a place where we can make a reservation, but let me know if I'm wrong!

Or, is the best option to pick a neighborhood or street and work our way in and out of different bars while waiting for midnight? Has anyone been to the Piazza del Duomo for New Year's? Would you recommend it? I know that I personally would never try to spend New Year's Eve at Times Square due to the crowds and discomfort, but maybe things are different in Milan?

Any help would be much appreciated!

We loved this restaurant in Milan:

We were able to make a reservation online, the food was wonderful and the prices reasonable.
They were very welcoming and we had a great time.
Hope you'll give it a try!
