New Year's Suggestions

I will be in the Genoa area on New Year's Eve this year. I am looking for suggestions as to were to go/what to do. I am not necessarily set on staying in Genoa and am will to travel within reason (2-3 hours). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The wildest New Years I ever had was on the beach in Nice just across the border from Genoa. They said wildness factor came from all the Italian who come across just to celebrate in that area.
