New Year's in Rome

My husband and I will be traveling to Rome Dec. 30 - Jan 5 for a belated honeymoon. We are looking for some suggestions of what to do on Jan. 1. Thus far it looks like the Pantheon is the only major attraction open on holidays. Of course it will be a great opportunity to just wander around, but I thought I'd see if there was idea I may have missed. Thanks!

You can still visit the Trevi fountain, spanish steps, circus maximus, Piazza Navona, and the many many fountains around the city. Also, just wandering the city is great. Peak into courtyards and churches when you have the chance. Donna

Although the Borghese Gallery will be closed, the park will be open - great for strolling! Try to end up at Piazza del Popolo (great view from the Pincio) for many walking choices. Window shopping near the Trevi fountains would be fun, too.
