New Words

Italy keeps adding new words...

Shakerato is old news, but today I saw:

Drinkeria

And my new favorite:

Toasteria (dozens of different types of sandwiches on...toast!

Any others you've seen?

If you are really interested in this topic, rather than looking for anecdotal stories you might want to actually do some research. Additionally, language is usually heard first before it's "seen"

I can't think of anything from Italy but I remember being in Poland and learning the word for vegetarian was wegetarianski (written vegetarianski in the tourist areas). My family is Polish and my last name ends in "ski" and are use to jokes about adding "ski" onto words to make them Polish. So this made me smile.

It sounds like you have started your summer Italian adventure Zoe. Buon viaggio! And if you could bring us back some souvenirs, that would be great! ;)
