I just watched the new Season 7 one hour Special Rome: Eternally Engaging. I don't think there is any breaking news or great new tips on it, but very nice to see a new show on Rome instead of watching the old episodes on DVD. I have definitely added the Appian Way and Jewish Ghetto to my next itinerary though (thanks to Rick showing them). Those two things have escaped me on my previous trips. Can't wait to see the rest of the new season.
If you are in the ghetto in the spring try the fried artichoke hearts - they are wonderful!!!!! We only found them in the ghetto area. In the countryside they sell them during the artichoke festivals in paper cones....like chips in London and Amsterdam.....delicious!
I was happy to see the Rome special was 1 hour long - hope more of the 2012 shows are like that. I hope all the Rickniks will be easy on me, but what did ya'll think of Rick in blue jeans (and, the sweater draped around his shoulders)?....he looked kinda "fancied up" to me!
Oh no, I missed it! And I'm going to Italy next year! Anyone know if I can catch it anywhere online?
