Florence City tax fee, € 2.00 PER PERSON PER NIGHT...anyone heard about it?
I hadn't heard about Florence's personally, but I do know that a lot of European cities have started to place these taxes.
Haven't heard specifically about Florence but encountered it last year in Rome and Netherlands. Just one more way to tax the tourist.
Rome's tax just started in 2011. While I would prefer to have more money to spend at my discretion, the tax is a small amount and realistically going to prevent people from traveling. US cities have hotel taxes that usually much higher.
