New itinerary for frequent Italy traveller

Asking for some suggestions-taking my niece-first time to Italy for her. I have been countless times, and have seen Rome, Florence, Venice many times. Love those places, but thinking of combining one or two of the big three for my niece, and then heading south to Amalfi-and over to Puglia region. 12 days travel time-appreciate any input. Thanks you

Puglia is an area roughly the size of Vermont. Is there one city you have in mind or...?

With 12 days and your having been to Italy many times you probably do not need us to tell you no more 3 places would be ideal.

Where does your niece want to go?

For the time you have and it being her 1st time there getting to/from Puglia mare be devoting too much time to 'traveling' at the expense of 'being' somewhere

How old is your niece? Child or adult? What does SHE want to see? Ask her!
Also, 12 days is not much time to hit the big 3, plus Amalfi and Puglia.

Personally, if your flying into Rome I would say do Rome and go south. Maybe you can fly out of puglia somewhere to save travel days. Save the north of Rome for her next trip😉.

Arrive Rome, train immediately to Naples
Naples 3 nights.

Flix bus Naples to Bari, 3 hrs 20 minutes. visit Lecce,Polignano a Mare and Trani.
3 nights Bari.

Fly Bari-Rome, train to Florence.
3 nights Florence.

Train Florence-Rome.
3 nights Rome.

If you'd prefer to slow it down, skip Florence and make it 4 nights for the other places.
