The Club Alpino Italiano (CAI) has sponsored a new hiking App titled 'Sentiero Italiano CAI' now available free in the Google Play Store as 'Sentiero Italia' and in the Apple App Store as 'Mappa Digitale Sentiero Italia'. It shows CAI trails for the whole Italian peninsula overlaid on OpenStreetMap. The App is in Italian and states it will show the user's device location on the map. I've looked at an area I'm familiar with and the map will be quite useful especially since one can follow by trail number. The resolution is not astonishing, but it seems at least as good as most paper maps. In the Cinque Terre, the App does not seem as detailed as the Official Park Map App.
