We will be travelling end of Sept/Oct (2 weeks) to Venice, Florence, and Rome. I know this is a broad & very subjective question, but here goes....Which important sites/museums, etc. would we def. need to make reservations now in order to help avoid the ticket lines and also need timed entries? And are the museum passes generally worth it, understanding that it depends on how many places we will visit. ty
Venice
St Mark Basilica
Doges Palace
Florence
Accademia-David
Ufizzi
Duomo-especially Duomo climb
Rome
Vatican
Colosseum
Borghese
Pantheon now requires a ticket
Be sure you are using the official sites
The Firenze card can be useful- you have to do the math
Roma Pass not as useful
Also in Rome:
San Clemente doesn't sell tickets on site; you need to buy them online--I think not very far in advance. The tickets are timed.
Domus Aurea has sold out ahead of time in the past. It was reported recently that the tours are now or soon will be offered more frequently, so that may loosen things up. The tickets are timed.
Also in Venice:
The Guggenheim is very popular, so I wouldn't want to show up and stand in the ticket line. I don't think tickets are hard to get, though. The tickets are timed.
Ty..getting me to look at some of these places I just skimmed over.
