Need Two Bedroom Apt in Cingue Terre For May 2 nights

Hi, We will be visiting Italy in May. We have places to stay in Lake Como and Venice. We would like to visit the Cinque Terre Area for two nights on May 9-11. I would have thought because of the flooding it would be fairly easy to get a place to stay at a reasonable price. We can't seem to find anything. Ideally, we are looking for a two bedroom apt. ( with doors, not one big room or no doors) I one bedroom with a pull out might also work as long as there are doors. We are pretty open to the town we would stay in as long as it is nice. I am surprised with what has happened there that it's hard to find a place to stay and that rates are pretty high. Any help?

Last September, we stayed in Bonassola (second town north of Monterosso) at Agriturismo Ca du Ferra. They have two buildings with two apartments in each. The building we were in had a common entry hall with one door opening to the right and the other to the left. It's walking distance from town (i.e., not really out in the country as you might expect for an agriturismo).

Tom, Part of the problem might be that a lot of the places in the Cinque Terre are still closed for the season, so there could be a lack of English-speaking staff to handle E-mails. Which places have you tried so far? I've never tried to book an apartment there, but most of the accommodations tend to be small rooms and Hotels, so there may not be a lot of two-bedroom apartments available? Do you have any preference for which of the five villages you want to stay in? You might try This Firm in Riomaggiore, as they have some quad rooms available (their link to the rooms doesn't seem to be working at the moment?). The rooms are basic but comfortable, and as I recall these don't include breakfast. I'd recommend booking the room as soon as you find what you're looking for (especially for May)!!! Good luck and happy travels!

I'll give the locations you have listed a shot. Thank you very much. I get the feeling that you are right that there aren't alot of apartments available, especially two bedroom. This is the same sort of problem we ran into when we went to the Almafi coast. We finally settled on two rooms at a hotel. The hotel was great, Hotel Margherretti in Priano (sorry for the spelling). But if we can get the apartment we would much prefer it. If we can get additonal suggestions it would be appreciated. By the way, we usually check out VRBO and have had alot of good success on that site in finding places. We find the reviews very helpful. Thanks for the hlep

my daughter and I stayed 4 nights at Buranco Agriturismo in Monterosso Al Mare in early October. They have one or 2 actual apartments. OUr place was just 2 bedrooms (one also had a little couch in it) w bathroom, small vestibule, and little terrace w lovely views. (and table/chairs on terrace). No food prep or storage area. Up a steep hill from old town and we liked it very much. Definitely walkable from everywhere in town, if you can make a steep hill. Look online at Buranco and check reviews at Trip advisor. They produce wine, honey, and maybe olive oil.
Loved Monterosso, and hoping it will be back in good shape by May.

Hi Tom, I rented a 2 bedroom apartment in Manarola, 3 years ago. The apartment was lovely, the only downside is we had to walk up four flights of stairs to get to the apartment... by the end of the stay, it didn't bother us at all.
http://www.acasa5terre.it Check out their website... just click on lodgings and then choose the town you want to stay in... they will show you the apartments they have in that town. This company also offers cooking classes and wine and olive oil tasting. We did the wine and olive oil tasting... this was done by Claudio and I must say was one of the highlights of our 6 days in Cinque Terre.

The problem may be your two-night stay. Many apartments have a three night minimum, or more. google Mediterraneo 2 in Manarola. It is a very nice two bedroom apartment, but the listings all say 3 nights. Can you change your itinerary to allow 3 nights in Cinque Terre?

Thanks for the replies and I will definitley check out the suggested sites. Also, I do realize that 2 nights is tough to find anywhere. I would pay for three nights and stay the two if it was a nice place and reasonable. I was hoping that in the off season renters might be a bit more flexable. Thanks again, will check the suggestions. Tom

I'm not sure May is the off season in Cinque Terre...
