Please help. I lost my 3-prong plug adapter and my 2-prong adapter doesn't work here. Can someone tell me where to buy an adapter in Turin so I can charge my American devices here? I tried the big electronics chain, they don't have it, and my internet search didn't turn up any travel stores.
Did you ask your hotel? They sometimes have adapters at the front desk that have been left behind by other travelers.
If your hotel does not have one to borrow try a gadget, electronics store at the train station. They may have one..
Ask for a "ferramenta" (hardware store).
Thanks, everyone. I'm not staying at a hotel, but thanks to your advice, went to one which recommended a nearby electronics store. They had adapters both for US electronics as well as for my 2-prong adapter, so I'm all set.
In a pinch, and if your room/hotel has an LCD tv, you can charge your phone/devices using the USB port. Never tried it, but it comes up over and over again whenever I read a travel list these days. Or, if your hotelier is kind and trusting enough, you could probably use their computers. I guess in a major metropolitan area, fiding the solution is rather easy, but not so much in a more remote spot.
Glad you found something.
Buon viaggio.
