Need Suggestions for 2-3 nights outside of Rome in Early April

We are doing Rick Steves' 9 Day Tour (Venice, Florence, Rome) in late March/early April. I'm seeking suggestions for a location to relax a bit after all the stimulation of art, history and a daily schedule. We have a few days before departing from Rome and welcome your suggestions for a place to kick back a bit, read, sketch, and transition to reality. I'm dreaming of a spa nearby, but that's just a fantasy. Thinking maybe Sorrento? Hoping for a coast or small villages location or easy day trip to the coast. Not really interested in Naples or Siclily. We will not have a car and it will be our first time in Italy. Need easy and nearly stress-free travel. Thanks very much for your ideas!

We went to Sorrento before our Rome tour last month & it was lovely even in the off season. Enjoy your trip

A trio of charming towns – Bracciano, Trevignano and Anguillara - set on the shores of lake Bracciano together make for a full day or a relaxing weekend away from Rome. All three are different, but all are equally attractive. The easiest starting point is Bracciano town, reached by train from Rome (about an hour from Ostiense station). Cotral buses run between the three towns, making it possible to visit all three in a day, and between Anguillara and the nearest railway station 5km away. Staying a few days in Trevignano will make for a more leisurely weekend. Also Assissi is another good option just 2 hours away from Rome by train.

Orvieto is easy peasy though not coastal. Less than an hour by train from Rome. Assisi also comes to mind, a couple of hours by train and an easy city to love.
