A taxi can take you there (flat rate 48 euro)

Most people in this site also suggest a limo service called Romecabs.

I've never used it, but they must be reputable since many contributors here have. They probably charge a bit more than the regular taxi cabs, but probably not much more since with 6 people you'd need a taxi van or 2 taxis.

After a long flight, some jet lag, not being familiar with the area, there is nothing better than having your private driver meet you inside the terminal and whisk you to your hotel. No fending off the rouge cabs, waiting in the regular taxi line, or just having a "lost" feeling. It is not the cheapest way, but it is definitely the best. We can not say enough good things about Rome Cabs. It is a private car service (not a cab company) but only cost about 10 Euro more than a regular taxi. We always use them and have always been very pleased. Go to romecabs.com and see what you think. We usually send an email and they answer us with a quote within 24 hours. You do have to pay cash (Euros) and the end of the journey but not in advance.

I've used romecabs.com many times without any issues. They are really good.

We used Bob's Limousine (aka www.romelimousines.com) last May, highly rated on tripadvisors (up there with Romecabs). We had six people with 3 large and 3 carry-ons in a large van. I believe it was 60-75 euros. We used them for Rome-Civitavecchia and Civitavecchia-FCO. For 6 people, With a taxi you will require at least 2 cabs. We arranged reservations via internet. They take your card for thereservation, but ask you pay them in cash at the end of the trip.

Thanks everyone for your advice. We are very familiar with traveling in Italy but have never had need of airport transfer before. This will be a new experience for us. We usually rent a car when there are only 2 or 3 of us and we are staying outside Rome. I have checked both Rome Cabs and Bob's and both quoted 65 euro which i consider very reasonable for 6 adults. Rome Cab also uses Paypal so I would not have to use cash that day. Thank you all again!

Ask your hotel in Rome. They can probably arrange a van/driver to meet you

The problem with having the hotel make arrangements is that you might wind up with a regular cab, a car service, or the desk clerk's brother in law. Happened to us once but there were four of us and only one brother in law so there wasn't a problem. See previous comments about Rome Cabs.

We always use romashuttle.com and can highly recommend them. Check with your hotel because sometimes they can provide transport a little cheaper than the established companies. This is the best method...easy, easy.

I concur regarding previous comments regarding Romecabs.com. I have used them twice previously and will use them again this coming September. They are extremely reliable and professional. Highly recommend!

I believe the taxi fixed price quoted above is only good for up to 4 passengers, after that a private service is cheaper. We had apartment booking service arrange driver 55 euros for 5.
