We prefer not to take a train or bus, or drive ourselves to Lake Como.
Can anyone suggest a reliable "taxi" company? I've gotten quotes from a few and the rate seems to be 300 Euros total.

300 euros is the going rate. We took the train from the Milan train station to Varenna & it was very easy however on our last day there, we took a shuttle bus from Varenna to Malpensa & it was over 100 euros total for the 2 of us so a private taxi would be more. If you choose to take the train, it's easy.

At website go to italy. then it will take you to choices. First columm choose aiport then malpensa. Next column coose place and tyoe in Bellagio. Next column choose # of passangers. If you still have trouble let me know
