Finally I've made hotel reservations for Rome @ Hotel Smeraldo & in Sorrento Hotel Antiche Mura. But after some postings I read about Hotel Il Nido In Sorrento I'm reconsidering. Hotel Il Nido has free shuttle into town. I have'nt been able to find a decent place in the center of Florence. Every B&B with elevators I emailed are full for July. I have to have either a suite (2adults plus 2 teens)or 2 rooms. I tried apartments and most places need a week stay. Has anyone stayed at Hotel Duomo or Hotel Residenza dei Pucci? Thanks for your suggestions.

Look at Hotel Johlea--our room last May was 90 euros. It is on a narrow street, Via Gallo and a short walk to everything. The breakfast is included and there is an elevator. Very important to us: quiet.

Have you tried Il Bargellino? No elevator, but rooms are only one flight up. There was a family of 4 (parents, 2 teenagers) staying in one room when I was there last May.

You might have a look at Hotel Aldobrandini in Florence. I believe it fits your criteria, and it's in a great location, easily walkable from Firenze SMN station.

Thank you all once again for your help. I had tried Il Bargellino, about 4 to 5 B&B and the problem was getting a room to fit us all or rooms next to each other. At the same time I wanted it in the city center and was also reading all the reviews. I started getting headaches just being in front of the computer all day long especially when I'm not used to it! Finally I made reservations at the Hotel Axial. We got 2 rooms next to each other for E 91 per room per day inclusive of breakfast. Now that I have all the hotels covered my next step is to make a spreadsheet with the hotel names, address, phone #, check in & check out timings and time of train or bus to take us to the next base. I like to be organized and plan everything before hand, Boring!?
