Need recommendation for B&B in Cinque Terre

Planning on 3 nights in June in CT. Considering Levanto, is it better to stay in the Villages or
just outside?
Any advice is appreciated!

It's better to stay in the villages especially if money is no object, but in June, it might not be cheap, and places can book up early. Start looking on sites like Booking.com and see what's available.

Otherwise, Levanto is still a nice town and only one train stop north of Monterosso. I've stayed in Levanto twice and would again. The train pass that covers the villages also covers Levanto, so if you buy a multi-day park pass that includes trains, you'd be set.

Just compare prices in all the towns. Corniglia FYI is up on a hill from the train station unlike the others, so some find it inconvenient. (There is a free shuttle bus to take you up and down the hill to/from the station.) If you stay in Levanto, I suggest something down in town closer to the ocean (that is, between the train station and the ocean, not further from the ocean).

In May of last year we stayed in a wonderful B and B in Monterroso. Affittacamere Da Cesare. This is a small B and B, but it is wonderfully managed. The breakfasts are home made every morning with delicious selections. We liked the location of Monterroso as it is the northern village and readily accessible by train from Milan.

cparker,

I'd suggest staying in one of the five towns so that you'll be able to experience the atmosphere in the evenings, when all the day trippers have departed. Most hotels also provide breakfast, so would you consider those also? I would highly recommend Hotel Villa Steno or Hotel Pasquale in Monterosso but those usually book up early. You might check the RS Italy guidebook for other listings in all the towns, but in any case you'll need to get cracking on this fairly soon.

Good luck!
