Need place in Cinque Terre- Vernazza for September

Getting a booking for September at this late date may be "challenging". You might find something on either of these websites.....

Given the short time until September, you may have to take what you can find. Don't rule out Monterosso as that's a great town to stay in as well.

Thanks Ken. I checked out the Save Vernazza site and struck out there. But it's a fabulous site for future reference. I've struck out in Vernazza so will begin searching in Monterosso. Do you recommend anything there?

Could you clarify if the $125 per night is in U.S. dollars? Probably better to always use Euro when comparing prices.

As Monterosso is the largest of the five towns, there's a greater number of accommodations available. Go through the list from my previous reply, but a few places you could consider......

• Hotel Villa Steno (old town) This is my favourite hotel perhaps in all of Europe!
• Hotel Pasquale (old town)
• Hotel Villa Adriana (new town)
• Affitacamere 5 Terre (old town)
• Hotel Porto Roca (old town at the far end - somewhat posh but they have a great pool overlooking the ocean)
• Hotel La Spiaggia (new town)

Check Trip Advisor reviews to determine which ones best fit your criteria. Of course, if you can find a vacancy at any of those, it would be a good idea to take it.

If you can't find anything at all, try looking in Levanto. It's only a few minutes away by train, and a good fallback if CT accommodations are all booked up - although others with the same problem may have snapped up quite a number of rooms by now.

We used them 2 years ago and stayed in Riomaggiore in the Gabriella. Loved having a rooftop terrace. had sea view and hillside view.

Try Booking.com, if they can't find a hotel in Vernazza they will offer close by options. Also try emailing hotels directly. All of them got back to me and were so sweet in their response, even if it was "nothing available". You might score a last minute cancellation.

Try Il Maestrale in Monterosso. It is a little short notice, but worth a try. http://locandamaestrale.net/?lang=en

If you can't find a room in Vernazza, try Riomaggiore, Manarola, or Corniglia. Each town is only about 5 minutes away each via train so you still can see all of Cinque Terre.

Try not to wait until you arrive, it is a busy time and you may not have much luck.
